Italy reports 40 percent increase in coronavirus cases in just one day

Italian authorities said Sunday that the country has confirmed 1,694 cases of a potentially-deadly coronavirus, representing a 50-percent increase in the last 24 hours alone.Officials added that five more people have died from the disease, bringing the total to 34 in the country, according to The Associated Press.
